West Ashley High Teacher Finalist for Award
A West Ashley High School teacher is among the three finalists for the South Carolina Spanish Teacher of the year presented by the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society

Crystal Helper, a teacher at is one of three finalists chosen for the 2012 South Carolina Spanish Teacher of the Year award.
Helper, along with Martha Gadsden of Berkeley High School and Erin R. Gilreath of Dutch Fork High School, was selected by the College of Charleston and The Citadel chapters of Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society, according to the group's Facebook page.
The winner will be announced at an official award ceremony 7 p.m. Nov. 8, at The Citadel.
