West Ashley Man Faces Weapon, Drug Charges

Police stopped a West Ashley man for trespassing at a local apartment complex and allegedly found drugs and a gun on him as well

A West Ashley man is facing serious charges after a Charleston officer allegedly caught him trespassing at Bridgeview Village Apartments

Charleston Police charged Tomothy W. McCall, 31, of 1133 Brody Ave., with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, unlawful carrying of a handgun and trespassing just after midnight Saturday, according to a police statement.

The officer recognized McCall as a person already on trespass notice from the apartment complex around 12:05 a.m. Saturday, and caught up with him after a short foot pursuit as McCall allegedly tried to enter one of the apartments at the Downtown Charleston complex, according to the statement.

The officer allegedly recovered 16 grams of marijuana and a handgun from McCall.
