West Ashley Man Facing Drug Charges
Police charged a West Ashley man with possession with intent to distribute marijuana within close proximity of a school on Friday following a search of his home

The Charleston Police Department's Special Investigations Unit recovered 74 grams of marijuana, prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia from a West Ashley home Friday. Police also arrested a West Ashley man on drug charges after executing a search warrant at the home on Friday, according to a statement from the department.
Joshua Prescott Peterson, 21, of 1912 Wappoo Drive, is charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute within close proximity of a school. Peterson was being held at the Charleston County Detention Center.
The drugs and paraphernalia were recoverd at 2006 Bayhill Drive, where the search as carried out. Police Spokesman Charles Francis said Peterson was a frequent visitor at 2006 Bayhill Drive and was arrested during the course of the investigation.
