West Ashley Shootings Under Investigation
Police have been investigating four separate shootings reported in West Ashley over the past week

Shots have been ringing out throughout West Ashley in the past week, keeping Charleston Police busy investigating the violent crimes.
. Witnesses told police they heard as many a 15 shots shortly before a white SUV sped through the intersection and rolled over, according to a Charleston Police Department report.
The driver of the SUV was rushed to MUSC where he later died from his wounds.

Another man was rushed to the hospital around 9 p.m. Friday, March 9, following a shooting reported on nearby Anita Drive, according to another Charleston Police report.
A homeowner told officers he heard three gunshots and what sounded like someone jumping over his fence. The homeowner found a man in his backyard with gunshot wounds to the body, the report stated.

Two other shooting incidents were reported on Monday, March 12, but no one was injured in either of those, according to Charleston Police Department reports.
Shortly after midnight on Monday a Parkdale Drive homeowner called police after someone fired three shots into her front window, the report stated. Three members of the family were home at the time, but no one was hit by the bullets which lodged in the wall opposite the front window.
Also that night, according to another report, someone fired a single shot through an exterior wall of the office at Windjammer Apartments. The bullet also punched a hole in an interior wall in the office, but caused no injuries. The shooting happened between 10:30 p.m. Sunday, March 11 when the office closed and 8:18 a.m. Monday, March 12.
The apartment complex manager told officers she suspected a recently evicted tenant may have fired the shot.
The officer that wrote up the report on that incident noted that residents of nearby North Woodmere Drive reported hearing gunshots at 10:36 p.m. Sunday night.
