Where To Get Your Fireworks

Fireworks sales are banned in the City of Charleston, but several fireworks stands operate in unincorporated parts of West Ashley

New Years and July 4 are big days for the fireworks industry, and there are several spots to pick up fire crackers, bottle rockets and things that pack a little more bang for your buck.

Head down Ashley River Road towards Summerville to find the biggest selection at Steve's Cracker Shack at Simply Produce at the intersection of Pierpont Avenue. The family run stand has been in operation for the past 15 years, according to owner Steve Trussell.

"I'm here every day from October to Jan. 1," Trussell said. "We keep Hank Jr. on the radio and keep the customers happy."

Trussell said he always stresses safety with customers and offers advice on the proper way to set off the colorful explosives.
