A West Ashley woman reported being beaten and robbed inside a home on Joy Avenue earlier this month, according to a Charleston County Sheriff's Office report. The strongarm robbery happened around 10:15 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9. The victim said she was inside a residence at 1438 Joy Ave. when someone jumped her from behind and hit her in the face and head several times with an unknown object. The assailant also stole the victim's purse which contained approximately $500 worth of prescription medications. No description of the assailant was available.
