Freddie Grant Appears in Court, Won't Face Death Penalty
It is unclear whether authorities used the death penalty as a bargaining chip for Freddie Grant's cooperation.

The man accused of kidnapping and killing Gabbiee Swainson, Freddie Grant, was in a Richland County courtroom Friday after authorities found the missing girl's body under Grant's direction, WIS reports.
The death penalty is not an option for Grant, authorities said in a press conference Thursday night.
It is unclear whether this was part of the deal authorities made with Grant in exchange for the location of Swainson's body.
This comes on the same day that Grant's daughter was released from jail, WLTX reports. Dominique Grant was arrested after she allegedly took Swainson's cell phone to a Piggly Wiggly in Myrtle Beach.
