One Killed in Leesburg Road Crash

One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Leesburg Road Tuesday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred shortly after 10 a.m. on Leesburg Road, five miles north of Eastover, Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. David Jones said.

The driver, an Eastover resident, was traveling in a 1997 Chevy Geo when the vehicle went off the left side of the roadway and overturned several times, Jones said. The driver was wearing a seatbelt.

The person was taken to Palmetto Health Richland where the individual died from injuries suffered in the crash.
