- Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, along with local fire departments and county EMS, are training teachers for school emergencies through sessions that prepare them to react to various scenarios. They are learning what to do when someone is injured, what to do if they hear a gunshot or smell smoke, what types of medical treatment are needed before a first responder arrives, or even what to do if someone goes into cardiac arrest. The hope is to provide teachers with the knowledge and training to take action faster and feel confident in their decisions during emergency situations. (WSAV-TV)
- The Hilton Head Area Realtors and Beaufort-Jasper County Association of Realtors' June market reports analyzed single-family home inventory, pricing, and construction. Hilton Head condos and villa prices have increased by 14.3 percent since last year, putting the median price at $520,000. There are about 2.5 months of condo inventory in Hilton Head, but it is taking about 103 days on the market for condos to be sold — compared to 69 days last year. Patients will be able to receive the same services, such as mammography, CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and bone densitometry, along with seeing the same staff. Before the transition to BMH occurs, there will be a few upgrades to IT and other equipment. (Beaufort Memorial)
