  1. In response to a recent encounter between a fisherman and an alligator in Shipyard Plantation, fishing activities have been temporarily prohibited by the community. The incident, captured on video, showed the alligator charging at the fisherman, who managed to escape unharmed. Wildlife removal specialists were called in to assess the situation, leading to the removal of two alligators. As a precautionary measure, a ban on fishing has been implemented until the Labor Day weekend, with a future review scheduled by the Shipyard Executive Committee. (WSAV-TV)
  2. Tyler Perry, the acclaimed actor, filmmaker, and playwright, has joined the advocacy efforts for 93-year-old Hilton Head resident Josephine Wright, who is fighting to retain ownership of her ancestral land. Wright has been engaged in a legal battle against Bailey Point Investment LLC, which aims to acquire her property for a residential development project. Perry expressed his support for Wright on social media and offered assistance in her fight. The community has rallied behind Wright, with local residents, town leaders, and NBA star Kyrie Irving reportedly contributing to a legal fund in her name. (WCBD News 2)
  3. Rev. Isaac Wayman Wilborn Jr., a revered educator, minister, and community leader in Beaufort County, passed away at 93. His contributions as a school principal and in establishing the Children's Center earned him induction into the South Carolina Black Hall of Fame. Remembered as a laid-back individual, he found joy in conversing with people on his front porch. (Yahoo News)
