- Tysha Shailayah Brown was charged with attempted murder after Saturday's incident. After a backup caused both drivers to enter into a disagreement in a nearby Burger King parking lot, Brown ran the man over before putting the vehicle in reverse and backing over him again, according to officials. As of 3:00 p.m. on Monday, Brown remains in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center with an unset bond. (Free: WSAV; Subscription: Hilton Head Island Packet)
- Beaufort County will soon be the first in the state to implement a green space tax. Starting May 1, residents will see the county's implemented 1 percent county green space local tax on their sales receipts, making the sales tax rate increase from 6 percent to percent. The tax is set to last for two years, or until $100 million has been collected, to allow the county to purchase land to protect it from further development. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- Set the date to see April's pink moon with the naked eye. The paschal full moon, or the pink moon, is this month's full moon set to rise on Wednesday evening. It will reach its peak at 12:34 a.m. early Thursday morning in Hilton Head. Be on the lookout for three of the five visible planets that will be seen in the sky as well.
