- St. Patrick's Day celebrations are starting a little early in Hilton Head as the St. Patty's Day Parade this weekend. Tomorrow is the start of the two-day Hilton Head Irish Festival, which kicks off near the beach at 4:00 p.m. The event will feature local musicians, food trucks, an Irish Rock group from Boston, and more to come. (WTOC)
- This weekend is also the Savannah Celtic Heritage Festival and the McLean Avenue Band has come all the way from County Westmeath Ireland to perform. The McLean Avenue Band joined WTOC for a preview performance of "Go Lassie Go" on the Morning Break. The band will be serving as the headliner for the festival this weekend. (WTOC)
- A fire Wednesday has left a family of three without a home in nearby Beaufort. Around 5 p.m., Beaufort County EMS and fire departments responded to a call of a fire taking place in Hilanda Mobile Home Park, firefighters arrived at a mobile camper fully engulfed in flames. The family heard popping noises and escaped the home without injury, the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Fighters were able to extinguish the flame but the damage to the camper and the home was very severe, the family is being assisted by the Red Cross for housing accommodations. (WJCL News Savannah)
