  1. The new Forrest Fire BBQ restaurant at Coligny Plaza is open and ready for business. Located in what was once the banquet area for Fish Coastal Casual, it includes a full bar, as well as standard fare. Quote Lee Lucier, owner: "It's scratch cooking. Nothing really comes out of a box. Except the shell pasta, we don't make the pasta. What we're trying to do is just good, simple food done right." (News Break)
  2. Signed May 19 by Gov. Henry McMaster, the "anti-chug law" allows travelers in South Carolina to purchase alcoholic beverages after they've cleared airport security, and drink it wherever they want inside the airport terminal, rather than having to stay inside the airport restaurant with it. However, airports must approve the ordinance for their own practices before it can become a reality for travelers. Charleston International Airport CEO Elliott Summey gave comment: "Our restaurants are trying to turn tables as fast as they can. We asked the Legislature to change it so if someone just wants to have a drink, they're not taking up for space for people to sit and eat. They can sit at the gate if they want to and have a drink. It's that simple of a solution." (Charleston Post Courier)
  3. In nearby Beaufort, City Attorney Bill Harvey is resigning from his position with the municipal government after 36 years of service. City officials have shared that Harvey plans to focus on his own firm. A formal request will be made for appropriations of funds for, and to make a schedule for, a recruitment process for a new city attorney. (WTOC)
