  1. Sea turtle season has just started on area beaches with over 50 nests already counted on Hilton Head Island. Sea Turtle nesting will last until August when the baby sea turtles will hatch. Volunteers say that people should leave off their lights as this can confuse new hatchlings, keep the beach free of plastic and trash, and leave the turtles alone. (Explore Beaufort SC)
  2. In case you missed it: The Town of Hilton Head Island is forming a Housing Action Committee consisting of diverse community leaders and citizens to address workforce housing affordability. The committee will provide advice and recommendations to the Town Manager and Council, supporting the implementation of the Workforce Housing Framework's goals and objectives. The committee will cover various areas, including homebuilding, finance, philanthropy, and community representation, and interested individuals can apply online for committee membership. 3. Cat Island Golf Club reopened Memorial Day weekend in Beaufort County after being closed for years. Resort Development Partners bought the dormant golf course and hired John LaFoy to redesign the classic George Cobb layout. Currently, the course is open to members with memberships available for purchase. (The Beaufort Gazette)
