  1. Yesterday the South Carolina Department of Transportation recommenced paving operations on William Hilton Parkway in Hilton Head Island. The project will involve the application of the final layer of asphalt and the addition of pavement markings. Construction will take place nightly from 7:00 p.m.- 7:00 a.m., with an expected finish date of Jul. 31. Throughout the construction period, at least one lane of traffic will always remain open in each direction. (AOL)
  2. At a recent Hilton Head Island town meeting, the Greater Island Council (GIC) appealed to disregard the ongoing Town Study, which examines island traffic and the U.S. 278 project. The GIC's stance ignores the potential morning traffic congestion that may arise from merging three lanes of bridge traffic into two lanes on the island. The citizens emphasize the importance of allowing elected officials to fulfill their responsibilities without interference from political groups, considering the significant impact of the issue. 3. HarborFest is an exciting summer event taking place every Tuesday until Aug. 22 at Shelter Cove Harbour and Marina on Hilton Head Island. The highlight of the event is the Tuesday night fireworks, which will continue throughout the summer season. You can learn more information here. (Town of Hilton Head Island Government via Facebook)
