Former Lexington County Deputy Sentenced in Criminal Domestic Violence Case

The former deputy was convicted Wednesday for assaulting his girlfriend earlier this year.

A former Lexington County Sheriff's deputy was convicted on Wednesday of criminal domestic violence, the South Carolina Attorney General's Office announced Thursday. 

Daniel M. Creamer, 32, of Lexington, was sentenced by Magistrate Court Judge Gary Morgan in Batesburg-Leesville, according to a release.

Authorities say Creamer got into an argument with his girlfriend and assaulted her in their home on Feb. 19.

Creamer received the maximum sentence of either 30 days in jail or a $1,000 fine, and six months of counseling, according to the release.

The case was assigned to the Attorney’s Office due to a potential conflict of interest, the release said. It was prosecuted by Assistant Attorney General Kelly Hall and Assistant Attorney General Megan Gresham. The investigation was conducted by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office.
