Lexington Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash
The crash happened around 5 p.m. Friday in Gilbert.

A Lexington man died after an SUV ran into his motorcycle in Gilbert Friday afternoon, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Larry M. Porth, 56, was driving his motorcycle on Windmill Road in Gilbert around 5 p.m. when an SUV collided with him at the intersection of Lewie Road, according to Lance Cpl. Brent Kelly with the highway patrol.Â
The SUV had been traveling north on Lewie Road and stopped at a stop sign before crossing Windmill Road and hitting Porth's motorcycle, Kelly said.
Porth was taken to Palmetto Richland Hospital where he later died from his injures, according to the Lexington County Coroner's Office. Porth was wearing a helmet.
The driver of the SUV was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured, according to the highway patrol.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating the crash.
