The Lexington County Coroner's Office has released the name of a person killed in an apartment fire in West Columbia Thursday night.  Jay A. Gross, 65, of West Columbia, was killed in the fire that occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m. at Granby Oaks Apartments at 800 State Street. Gross died from smoke inhalation, an autopsy performed Friday showed.  According to a <a href="http://www.wistv.com/story/23420381/fire-at-cayce" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">report from WIS-TV</a>, eight units were destroyed and 12 to 16 people were displaced. The fire remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner's Office and the West Columbia Police Department.
