Man Charged with Stealing Cell Phone from Amazon Distribution Center

Deputies say the man stole three cell phones.

Deputies arrested a 32-year-old Orangeburg man Thursday and charged him with stealing three cell phones worth a total of $1,224 from the Amazon Fulfillment Center near West Columbia.

Sedrick Sharron Guest, 32, of Orangeburg, is charged with petit larceny, according to the Lexington County Sheriff's Department. Deputies say he worked for SMX, a contractor at the distribution center.

Between May 6 and May 11 Guest stole one Samsung Galaxy S-4 cell phone and two Samsung Galaxy S-3 Mini cell phones from the Amazon Fulfillment Center at 4400 12th Street Extension, according to an arrest warrant.

Deputies say Guest removed the three cell phones from inventory at the distribution center, concealed them in food containers and then conspired to take them from the distribution center, according to the sheriff's department.

Deputies found one of the stolen cellular telephones on Guest’s person, according to the sheriff's department. Guest told deputies that he sold another one of the stolen phones at a store in Orangeburg.

Guest was released from the Lexington County Detention Center Friday after posting bond.
