Town Agrees to Sell 227 N. Lake Drive Property
Town Council on Tuesday approved the sale for $225,000.

A vacant piece of town-owned property at 227 N. Lake Drive will be sold to a nearby business following Lexington Town Council's vote Tuesday afternoon.
Council approved unanimously to sell the 0.303-acre parcel, former site of the LICS food pantry, for $225,000.Â
Councilmembers did not discuss who would purchase the property or its future use in the meeting.

Following the meeting, town spokeswoman Jennifer Dowden said Palmetto Microfilm Systems Inc., currently at 202 N. Lake Drive, was the purchaser.
Mayor Randy Halfacre said during the meeting that the owner wanted to proceed quickly, and the purchase could happen as soon as this week.
