West Columbia Man Killed in 5-Vehicle Collision on I-26

The crash occurred on I-26 eastbound near the Bush River Road exit early Monday morning.

A 36-year-old West Columbia man was killed in a five-vehicle collision on Interstate 26 eastbound early Monday morning.

The crash occurred near the Bush River Road exit at 6:46 a.m., South Carolina Highway Patrol Cpl. Bill Rhyne said. 

Damion C. Larrabee died after the motorcycle he was riding crashed on I-26 eastbound, Richland County Coroner Garry Watts said. Larrabee died at the scene from multi-trauma.

Larrabee was driving a 2005 Harley Davidson and was not wearing a helmet, Rhyne said. 

Another driver was injured in the crash and was transported by EMS to Palmetto Baptist Hospital.

Kerrie Green, 41, of Columbia was driving a 2002 Buick, Rhyne said. Green was wearing wearing.

The three other drivers — two from Columbia and one from Elgin — were not injured in the collision and were all wearing seatbelts. 

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
