- Everything is coming up Barbie this summer, including a new coffee spot in Murrells Inlet named Barbie Baristas. With a unique menu, including specialty coffee drinks like "Dream House" drip coffee and "Kenacchinos." This new spot brings a whole new meaning to a Pink Paradise. Stop in and try one of the featured espressos, cold brews, bubble teas, pastries and more. It is a "doll-ighful' place. (wpde.com)
- August at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center means interactions with dinosaurs. Take a step back in history with Jurassic Quest a popular adventure that will be featuring several life-like animatronic period dinosaurs. The experience will be in town from August 18 through 20. Hours vary for each day. Don't miss this unique event. (wpde.com)
- On Saturday while playing at the beach, a ten-year-old boy was allegedly touched by a 56-year-old man who allegedly would not let him leave the beach. According to WRAL News, "Kenneth Brian Moorehead, 56, is charged with third-degree assault and battery, kidnapping and third-degree sex/criminal conduct with a minor." (WRAL News)
- No one is getting away from the extreme heat and humidity. According to wpde.com, "Extreme heat kills more people than any other weather event, according to the American Red Cross, and more people are becoming exposed to the rising climate." Fill the ice trays and make sure there is ice cream in the freezer because as the week moves on in the Myrtle Beach area, temperatures are expected to rise, keeping it hot and humid. (wpde.com)
