New Directions of Horry County will activate its Code Blue protocol, while Fresh Brewed Coffee House is providing overflow space, warm drinks, and winter clothing. North Myrtle Beach starts $72M renourishment project (wpde.com) — A major $72 million beach renourishment project is underway in North Myrtle Beach and will move south toward Myrtle Beach in the coming weeks, restoring 26 miles of Grand Strand shoreline. Crews are already staging equipment, and residents are urged to avoid work zones as the Army Corps of Engineers manages temporary road and parking closures to protect oceanfront homes and infrastructure.

Person rescued after falling in embankment (wpde.com) — Emergency crews in North Myrtle Beach rescued a person who fell down an embankment in the wooded area of Barefoot Landing between Alabama Theatre and House of Blues. Fire rescue teams used technical rescue operations to safely lift the individual to pavement, where county medics took over for transport. The person’s condition was not detailed.
