Myrtle Beach groups extend hours during cold snap to help people experiencing homelessness (wmbfnews.com) — Myrtle Beach shelters are expanding access this weekend as dangerously cold temperatures move in, offering extra beds, blankets, and daytime warming space for people experiencing homelessness. New Directions of Horry County will activate its Code Blue protocol, while Fresh Brewed Coffee House is providing overflow space, warm drinks, and winter clothing. Neighbors are urged to share these resources with anyone they see outside in the cold.
   

2. North Myrtle Beach starts $72M renourishment project (wpde.com) — A major $72 million beach renourishment project is underway in North Myrtle Beach and will move south toward Myrtle Beach in the coming weeks, restoring 26 miles of Grand Strand shoreline. Crews are already staging equipment, and residents are urged to avoid work zones as the Army Corps of Engineers manages temporary road and parking closures to protect oceanfront homes and infrastructure.
   

3. Little River veteran organization provides necessities during ‘Stand-Down for Homeless Veterans' event (wbtw.com) — Veterans living in the Tiny Home Village in Myrtle Beach received winter essentials like coats, blankets, and hygiene items during a special “Stand-Down for Homeless Veterans” event. The Little River-based Veterans Welcome Home & Resource Center shut down its office to focus on delivering supplies, support, and personal outreach, with help from community groups offering poinsettias and gift cards.
   

4. ‘All that came up was me': Grand Strand photographers mixed up in a situation gone viral (wmbfnews.com) — A Myrtle Beach photography dispute that went viral on TikTok is now affecting other Grand Strand photographers with similar business names, including one contacted by Horry County deputies by mistake. The disagreement over a $165 wedding photoshoot deposit has led to lost clients, online harassment claims, and talk of possible court action, highlighting the importance of understanding service contracts.
   

5. Person rescued after falling in embankment (wpde.com) — Emergency crews in North Myrtle Beach rescued a person who fell down an embankment in the wooded area of Barefoot Landing between Alabama Theatre and House of Blues. Fire rescue teams used technical rescue operations to safely lift the individual to pavement, where county medics took over for transport. The person’s condition was not detailed.
