1. Special Kid program spreads holiday cheer to children with disabilities (wpde.com) — A Myrtle Beach-based Fidelis Foundation partnership is helping deliver holiday gifts to children with disabilities at Coastal Autism Academy and local group homes. Volunteers gathered at Surfside Beach Oceanfront Hotel to wrap presents donated by area businesses, continuing a two-decade tradition started by a local parent and professional in the disability community.
   

2. Grand Strand shoppers respond to upcoming SNAP sugar purchase restrictions (wbtw.com) — Myrtle Beach SNAP users will soon be barred from buying candy, soda, and energy drinks with benefits after federal officials approved South Carolina’s request. Local shoppers, including a North Myrtle Beach mother and a former SNAP user, largely support the August change, saying it could push families toward healthier groceries and better use of taxpayer dollars.
   

3. Man arrested for attempting to steal from Adam & Eve in NMB: Warrant (wpde.com) — Police say a man was arrested after allegedly planning to rob the Adam & Eve adult store in North Myrtle Beach, then fleeing when the clerk refused to cooperate. According to the warrant, he admitted intending to rob her but claimed he changed his mind; he’s now being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
   

4. Lawsuit filed against Raymond Moody by mother of Brittanee Drexel dismissed (wbtw.com) — A long-running case connected to a teen last seen in Myrtle Beach has shifted again, with one of the victim’s mother’s lawsuits against Raymond Moody now dismissed in Georgetown County. The dropped suit involved control of small Rose Hill Road properties, while a separate $700 million civil judgment against Moody remains in place and his accomplice continues serving a federal sentence.
