It's officially summer and Myrtle Beach State Park has an abundance of special programs going on that will be kicking off this month, including crab catching, to nature art, to exploring the maritime forest. On Fridays, you can join sea turtle patrol as they search for turtle crawls or meet saltwater creatures in a kiddie pool touch tank. Click here for more programs. (wpde.com)
  2. Hurricane season is upon us. To be safe, Horry County residents can sign up for emergency alerts by clicking here. Those who sign up will get alerts about the following: hurricane and tropical weather-related alerts, severe weather alerts, road closures related to events held within the city and boil water notices or disruption notices from the city's Public Works.   3. Looking for something fun and different to do today? If you are a car lover, head over to The Corvettes at the Beach car show today, June 3 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, next to Dave and Buster’s. Hope to see you there! (wpde.com)
  4. The Grand Strand is hot right now for lottery winnings. In just one month's time there was a second big million-dollar winner. This most recent winner won a reported $2 million off a $20 scratch off. According to WMBF, "The lottery states the odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 1,245,000." (WMBF)
