  2. Forty-seven-year-old Francisco Martinez Gomez was arrested and charged with voyeurism, violating a place of privacy when he was caught using his cell phone to record inappropriate images of a minor at a Myrtle Beach restaurant over the weekend. Gomez allegedly angled his cell phone camera in the direction of the 17-year-old victim’s skirt. Accoridng to WMBF, "Police reviewed surveillance footage from the business which revealed the suspect had done it twice." (WMBF)
  3. In an effort to reduce drug use and needless drug overdoses, lawmakers in the state are reportedly working to crack down on fentanyl trafficking in Horry County. Legislators want to enhance the penalty for those who are caught trafficking fentanyl. According to WBTW, "Horry County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Tom Fox said the number of accidental overdoses involving fentanyl rose 35% from 2020 to 2021. Horry County leads South Carolina in overdose deaths, topping the list with 272 of 2,168 deaths. People convicted of trafficking the drug could face a minimum of seven years in prison and up to 40 years depending on the amount of fentanyl they had." (WBTW)
