  1. Twin sisters, Katelyn and Kristyn Cromer, opened a mobile cotton candy business at Beachside Fluff. With 30 flavors and 20 different toppings, this is a perfect sweet treat to grab before Myrtle Beach's Movies Under the Stars event this Friday. (wpde.com)
  2. On July 27, Tidelands Health announced that it received state approval for new hospital in the Socastee area of Myrtle Beach. The new Tidelands Health Extended Care Hospital will be a long-term acute care hospital and feature 24 beds. The project is unique in that it is a “hospital within a hospital"— a long-term care hospital located within Tidelands Health Carolina Bays Hospital.   3. Theodore Woolings Bye III, of Myrtle Beach, has been arrested and charged in a multi-state child sex trafficking investigation. Bye and three others used online message boards and social media to lure a minor to Myrtle Beach for commercial sex acts. Bye faces a maximum penalty of life in prison. (Fox)
  4. On Monday afternoon, the body of a woman was discovered in the waterway area of Jack Circle Road near Little River Neck Road. There are few details as the investigation is still ongoing, but Horry County Coroner's Office reports that the woman is between 65 and 75 years old. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.   5. New laws, such as the bill known as the Micro-Distillery Parity Act, look to ease restrictions on local distilleries. Businesses owners, like Kevin Osborn of the Twelve 33 Distillery, look forward to the changes as a massive benefit for the industry. (wpde.com)
