  1. Stop by the first-ever FAST Fest today, Saturday, Sept. 2 at Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) Conference Center, which is located in the Market Common area in Myrtle Beach. Building 600 is the Conference Center. This is a free, educational tech and e-sports conference for the whole family. Hope to see you there! (Fast Fest Live)
  2. Forty-four-year-old Antwan Jones, who was vacationing in North Myrtle Beach this week from Indianapolis, was found dead in the water on Thursday night. The rip current risk in the area has been strong since Tropical Storm Idalia passed through on Wednesday night. Reportedly, Jones was found four blocks south of where he was last seen. A female swimmer was also pulled from the water on the same night. She was reportedly semi-responsive and taken to the hospital. According to Myhorrynews, "The U.S. Coast Guard issued a warning on Friday, urging those in the mid-atlantic over Labor Day weekend to 'exercise extreme caution when going into the water, especially for children and inexperienced swimmers, due to tropical storm impacts.'"   3. During the early morning hours of Friday morning, the Horry County Fire Rescue crews were reportedly called to the 3000 block of Holmestown Road to a working commercial structure fire. According to WMBF, "No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation." (WMBF)
