- Very early Tuesday morning, crews from the North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in Barefoot Landing. Crews found fire was blazing through the roof of one building that housed two stores. According to the North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue Facebook post, "Quick deployment of initial hose lines helped prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings. One tenant suffered major fire damage. Crews were able to stop the fire spread to the adjacent tenant limiting fire damage to the exterior wall and minimizing the damage inside from being any worse." - Fireworks in Downtown Myrtle Beach. A special Independence Day Fireworks Show, hosted by the MB Downtown Alliance will take place on Tuesday, July 4, at 9 p.m. Launching from the Second Avenue Pier, the fireworks will reportedly be viewable along the city’s beachfront. - Working for the health of kids, nurse practitioner Summer Watts has opened a new walk-in urgent care facility that focuses on the medical needs of children. The facility is located in Horry County, and it is called, Kid Care Pediatric Urgent Care. According to WMBF, "This is a family-run and operated facility and it’s the first of its kind in the county. Kid Care Pediatric Urgent Care is a bridge between a pediatrician’s office and the emergency room. They see infants to 21-year-olds and treat various acute illnesses, minor injuries, skin conditions, and even sports physicals. Their goal is to get you in and out in under an hour. They also do their own blood work to get results faster." (WMBF)
