- This week in Myrtle Beach gas news; prices are once again on the decline. Following a sharp spike after the July Fourth holiday, prices are once again falling. Down over 10 cents per gallon according to WMBF, "The cheapest station in Myrtle Beach was priced at $2.97 per gallon on Sunday, while the most expensive was $3.39 per gallon. The average price in the area is $3.12 per gallon." (WMBF)
- The new McLeod Health cancer care facility in Little River will unite all of McLeod Health’s cancer services under one roof in hopes of making it easier for families dealing with cancer. The ground has been broken on the construction of this new facility and it is expected to be completed and ready for use sometime in 2025. (WMBF)
- Get ready for the heat and humidity! According to WBTW, "Dangerous heat is expected later in the week as temperatures continue to rise. [Today] through Thursday will be mostly dry with only an isolated shower expected, but the humidity will be brutal." Get those fans and air conditioners ready! Stay cool! (WBTW)
- Hoping the weather this summer season does not become the norm, Horry County farmer Johnny Graham said the heat isn't just bad for the farm workers but the crops also. According to wpde.com, he said, "[The heat] is slowing down the squash and zucchini because the heat keeps baring down on it in the middle of the day and the plants can’t take so much heat." According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) this summer could be one of the hottest in history. (wpde.com)
