- Are you ready to go shopping? It's tax-free weekend in South Carolina, Friday, Aug. 4 through Sunday, Aug. 6. According to WBTW, "Stores and shopping centers across the Grand Strand and Pee Dee, including the Tanger Outlet Factory Centers, are already gearing up for the rush as shoppers look to take advantage of the tax discount." - Dune crossovers 76 and 80 Avenues North are the latest dunes to be rebuilt and open in Myrtle Beach following destruction by Hurricane Ian last fall. There are 13 other dunes that still need repairs and will be worked on throughout the remainder of the summer. (WMBF)
- It was a busy time for car break-ins, during the early morning hours Tuesday, in North Myrtle Beach. Police are enlisting the help of the public to help find the perpetrators of these crimes. According to WMBF, "The suspects smashed car windows and rummaged through mostly center consoles before making off with an unknown amount of cash and weapons."
