  1. The Surfside Fire Department, the Horry County Fire Rescue and the Horry County Police Department all responded to a fire rescue incident, which reportedly occurred at the 5000 block of S. Kings Highway at 10:35 p.m. on Wednesday night. According to WMBF, "The Horry County Fire Rescue is investigating what they are calling an 'apparent' explosion that left one person hurt and a camper destroyed. The extent of those injuries was not immediately available. In addition to the destroyed camper, two other campers were damaged. Fire officials are working to determine the cause." (WMBF)
  2. Home sales are lagging in the Myrtle Beach area due to low inventory and a rise in mortgage rates. According to wpde.com, "Home sales slid [in the area] for the second consecutive month.
According to the National Association of Realtors, they’re down more than 3 percent nationwide. In fact, sales are down 23 percent compared to this time last year. Mortgage rates are also about double what they were in 2021 and that has sidelined a number of buyers. A lowering in demand would normally drive prices down, but here in Myrtle Beach, home prices are up 1.8 percent compared to last year." (wpde.com)
  3. The Fourth Annual Swing for the Cure for ALS golf tournament is taking place this weekend on Sunday, June 25 at the Indigo Creek golf course. The event is dedicated to raising money to help in the fight against ALS in South Carolina. For more information email navyretguy635@gmail.com. (WBTW)
