Horry County Government: Horry County To Conduct Aerial Mosquito Spraying Thursday, October 14, 2021

Horry County will conduct aerial mosquito spraying on Thursday, October 14, 2021 in the Nichols area of Horry County with a make up day scheduled for Monday, October 18, 2021 if needed.

Aerial spraying will be conducted 30-minutes prior to sunset and 30-minutes after sunset, weather permitting.

The chemicals used for mosquito control spraying are approved by the EPA and pose minimal risk to humans or animals. Individuals with asthma or other respiratory illness may wish to stay indoors and close windows and doors during spraying. In addition, homegrown fruits and vegetables should be washed, scrubbed, and/or peeled before eating.
To help keep our honeybee population safe, beekeepers are urged to contact Horry County Stormwater to identify the location of their colonies. You can submit the location of your hive online here.
