HGTC also celebrated two students who were elected to serve as Carolinas Region Officers
for 2022-2023. They are Nicholas Papotto, South Carolina Vice President, and Trella
Holmes, Public Relations Vice President.

All awards were received based on projects and contributions in 2021. Chapter members
were able to accomplish all projects without meeting in person, by starting and completing
all projects in a virtual environment, dealing with personal issues, and losing several
key officers last year.

“HGTC continues to celebrate the successes of the Alpha Nu Sigma Chapter year after
year. We are in awe of the ongoing commitment of our advisors and students even amid
a pandemic. I am so proud that the work being done to build character, leadership,
and public service is receiving worthy recognition,” said Dr. Marilyn Murphy Fore,
HGTC President.

“Congratulations to Professor Rogers on her individual award, as well as all the students.
These important initiatives focused on Alzheimer’s Disease and memorial benches on
each campus, addressing critical issues in the last year. We are proud and appreciative
to this group for making a difference to those at the College and in our local community,”
said Dr. Jennifer Wilbanks, HGTC Executive Vice President for Academic and Workforce
Development.
