  1. Recognized for his athletic prowess, Myrtle Beach's running back Malachi Washington has been named the Blitz Grand Strand player of the week for week 1. According to WBTW, "Washington ran for 213 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Seahawks 51-14 victory over Conway. [He] was a member of our 2022 All-Blitz team and a former player of the week winner last season as well." Congratulations Malachi! (wbtw.com)
  2. Thursday was a day of clean-up after storm Idalia touched down in the area, leaving behind lots of flooding, some damage and quiet a scare. According to wsoctv.com, "Around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, a waterspout came ashore [in] North Myrtle Beach and turned into a tornado." Clean-up efforts are currently underway. (wsoctv.com)

If you like the music of Journey, you will love Departure, The Journey Tribute Band, which will be playing Sept. 3, at House of Blues Myrtle Beach from 7 to 11 p.m. Gather your friends and family and be transported back in time to Journey's greatest hits.
