  1. The completion date for the for new Surfside Beach pier won't be until August. Town crews are reportedly still working on a ramp for people with disabilities and other parts of the project are still in the review process. The pier was destroyed back in 2016 by Hurricane Matthew. The new concrete structure has been under construction since 2020. (WBTW)
  2. The famed musical "Hair" will be playing at the Theatre of the Republic located at 335 Main St., Conway. Performances will be on the following dates: June 22-23-24-25 and the 29-30, July 1-2. (WMBF)
  3. Two men were charged with criminal solicitation of a minor in a sex operation in the Lowcountry in late May 2023. Bryan Franklin Snead, 52, of Myrtle Beach, and Richard Edward Mitchell, 54, of Bonneau, have each reportedly been charged with one count of criminal solicitation of a minor. According to wpde.com, "The charge is a felony and carries a sentence of up to 10 years. Investigators say Snead and Mitchell solicited people they believed to be minors for sex in unrelated incidents." (wpde.com)
  4. A new summer camp option is being offered on the Grand Strand for the summer of 2023. Nailed It DIY Studio will be hosting week-long summer camps where kids can get their creativity on and create all kinds of cool and exciting projects that they can customize to their own liking. The camps are for kids aged six and older. (wpde.com)
