Here are the top stories today in Myrtle Beach:

  1. The Myrtle Beach Fire Department (MBFD) is currently looking to add additional drone pilots for the summer season. As of now, the department reportedly has 20 drone pilots, but more are needed. The drone program began in 2019 with donated drones from the Myrtle Beach Rotary Club and in the past year, there were 31 drone emergency rescues. (WMBF)
  2. There are some new orders in Myrtle Beach for Memorial Day Weekend, golf carts will be prohibited on Ocean Boulevard from 29th Avenue North to the south end of city limits beginning at 12:01 a.m. Friday, May 26 until Monday, May 29. Mopeds will also be prohibited in the same area during the following windows: 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m., Friday, May 26; 8 p.m. May 26 to 8 a.m. May 27; 8 p.m. May 28 to May 29, 8 p.m. According to WBTW, "The restrictions will end when the traffic control devices are removed at the end of the weekend, the city said.   3. A new kitchen is the latest renovation at B&B theater in Conway. This addition, along with larger screens and heated reclining seats gives customers an enhanced movie viewing experience. Check out the upgrades this summer when B&B will be showing its summer kids series starting on June 6. (wpde.com)
  4. Congratulations to all six Myrtle Beach Fire Department firefighters who recently graduated from the two-year intensive Paramedic Program at HGTC! The program helps to keep the community safer and allows it to receive advanced medical care when 911 is called. (wpde.com)
