  1. In an effort to keep everyone happy and safe during the holiday, the City of Myrtle Beach has some firework laws in place that you should know. Some of them include fireworks can be set off on private property between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. any day of the year with the owner's permission. There are extended hours on July 5 and New Year's Day, and so fireworks can be set off until 2:30 a.m. Fireworks can't be used within 300 feet of any gas station or business where flammable goods are sold. Fireworks can't be used within 500 feet of churches, hospitals and schools and more. Click here for the full list. (wpde.com)
  2. Today, June 27, the Horry Co. Procurement will be hosting a local vendor meet and greet. The event will be held in Carolina Forest at the recreation center, located at 2254 Carolina Forest Blvd. (wpde.com)
  3. The City Council of Conway is working to ensure that as the city grows, the opportunity for people to park in town remains open and free for everyone. One way they are looking to achieve this goal is to make all parking downtown two-hour parking only. (WMBF)
  4. Sixty-year-old Walter Hayes is now in custody after being charged with leaving the scene of a deadly hit-and-run incident that reportedly happened on May 18. He is accused of driving without a license in the area of Stalvey Avenue and Jennings Street when he allegedly struck 30-year-old Nelson Green, Jr. and killed him. Hayes has been denied bond, reportedly because he has no ties to Myrtle Beach and the judge found him to be a flight risk and a “substantial danger to the community.” (WMBF)
