  1. North Myrtle Beach Police say that traffic stops are for your own safety citing the fact that over 90 percent of the drugs and guns they seize come from traffic stops. According to WMBF, " [Officer Patrick] Wilkinson said that means no matter how big or small the reason officers pull you over, it is to keep you safe. Recently, the department said a car not using its turn signal helped a North Myrtle Beach police officer capture a teen fugitive." So don't be upset if you get pulled over for a minor traffic infraction, it's part of the way the police are keeping the area safe. (WMBF)
  2. The phone outages on Tuesday throughout the Grand Strand area are being blamed on the weather. To combat panic, during any future outages the spokesperson for Horry County Emergency Management, Thomas Bell, is urging residents and visitors alike to always have multiple ways to receive information. One way to do that is to sign up for something called Code Red! For more information about Code Red, click here. (WMBF)
  3. Although there were no details at press time of what happened in the accident, it has been confirmed that an 11-year-old Olivia Knighton, from Massachusetts, died yesterday from injuries incurred in a boating accident that happened shortly after 12 p.m. on Wednesday. The accident reportedly happened on Intracoastal Waterway, near Waterfront Avenue in Little River. The accident is currently under investigation. (wpde.com)
