  1. Within a 24-hour time span, the Horry County firefighters received over 300 calls. Reportedly from 8 a.m. on Monday morning. July 3, to 8 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4, 301 calls came in, making this the greatest number of calls during a 24-hour shift. In a Facebook post the Horry County Fire Rescue wrote, "Our crews are Committed to Excellence, and we couldn't provide the service we do for the residents and guests of Horry County without their daily dedication and care or the trust of the people we serve."   2. There are a lot of cameras out there in rentals in the area of Myrtle Beach, do you know the rules for short term rentals and cameras? Reportedly, the presence of a security camera or other surveillance equipment must be disclosed to potential renters on the property's listing page. In a recent WMBF article, it stated that "Airbnb said cameras or other surveillance devices are never allowed to be concealed and are prohibited in private spaces like bathrooms, bedrooms or other sleeping areas. Airbnb added that if travelers or hosts have a safety concern during an active stay, to call their 24-hour Safety Line. They said it connects them directly to their Safety team for support." (WMBF)
  3. Doing a good deed, Stella Prince of North Myrtle Beach took it upon herself to sell lemonade and popsicles on the Fourth of July. She ended up raising $500 dollars, which she is donating to the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. Great job, Stella. (wpde.com)
  4. Two weeks ago, 18-year-old Daniel Rowe of Georgia was pulled from the ocean in Myrtle Beach. It was reported this week that he died at a local hospital. His death is being ruled as an accidental drowning at this time. (WBTW)
