Here are the top stories today in Myrtle Beach:
- Farmer's Market Fridays will be held in Horry County as a pop-up farmers market in North Myrtle Beach will be bringing locals fresh produce and other locally sourced goodies at the end of every week. These pop-up markets throughout the Grand Strand are reportedly products of the Waccamaw Market Cooperative, a nonprofit that operates in Horry and Georgetown counties. The North Myrtle Beach's market is located behind city hall and will be happening every Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Dec. 15. (Myhorrynews)
- Heading into the summer season two community parks in the area are getting facelifts in the coming weeks. White Oak Park in Conway is closed currently for milling and paving work. Once crews complete the work at White Oak they'll head over to Simpson Creek Park in Myrtle Beach, and start the same process of milling and paving there. Currently there is no reported expected completion date for the upgrades, but we will keep you updated. (wpde.com)
- Looking for a new furry friend? Visit PetSmart in Myrtle Beach from 12 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7. All interested pet owners are invited to come see pets available for adoption. All adoptions are fee-free. The PetSmart is located at, 1301 Oak Forest Lane. Hope to see you there! (wpde.com)
- The Palmetto State Armory hosted held its grand opening event this weekend at its new location in Myrtle Beach, located at 914 Frontage Rd East. The Armory will be hosting training and gun range classes soon, as well as offering concealed weapon permit classes. (wpde.com)
