- The historic part of downtown Myrtle Beach is getting an infusion of new businesses soon. Pending final approval from the city council, both The Tasting Room, (an upscale bar and lounge) and the Dolly Llama (ice cream and dessert place), will be ready to open their doors to visitors and locals alike. Check them out! (WMBF)
- Students in Horry County Schools will be back in the classrooms before you know it. Which is why several security enhancements and upgrades have been made over the summer and will be completed over the next few weeks. Get ready to send your students back to safer schools come this fall. (WBTW)
- It's shark week! So, it is only fitting that Freya, an 883-pound, sub-adult female white shark, measuring 11 feet and 8 inches long, pinged off the coast of Myrtle Beach a few days ago according to Live 5 News WCSC. Be careful out there! (Live 5 News WCSC)
- In an effort to get more animals adopted, the Horry County Animal Care Center has become part of the “Clear the Shelters” pet adoption and donation campaign, which will begin on Aug. 1 and run throughout the month. Reportedly the animal shelter is currently at max capacity and has been since the beginning of the year. The hope is that several animals are adopted throughout August, making way for others in need.
