  1. Come see the exhibit, 'Lifting Black Voices' now at the Myrtle Beach Art Museum. The Rhodes Collection of African American Art exhibit showcases a variety of work from artists of different mediums and histories who are tied to South Carolina in some way. The exhibit will remain run through Sept. 10, and is free to visit. There is no admission fee to enter the museum. Check it out! (Myhorrynews)
  2. Businesses in North Myrtle Beach prep for hurricane season with additional supplies, generators, sandbags and exit strategies. With the dreaded hurricane season upon us, being prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws this way is paramount. So be prepared! (WMBF)
  3. The proposed new chicken ordinance may change how residents in Conway choose to use their land. According to WMBF, "The new ordinance would allow those in low-density (R and R1) neighborhoods to own up to 10 chickens. It also covers medium-density (R2) neighborhoods, though it has slightly more restrictions. Those living in medium-density neighborhoods could own up to six chickens as long as they live in a ‘detached single-family dwelling.’ [The] current city ordinance only allows chickens in rural and industrial zoning areas."   4. Twenty-seven-year-old Sonreah McCallum has been identified as the victim that suffered what is believed to be an accidental, fatal gunshot wound to the chest on Saturday. The incident reportedly occurred at a residence near Coquina Avenue in Murrells Inlet. (wpde.com)
