  1. Former North Myrtle Beach sergeant, Paul Sheets, who served the city for over 30 years and retired in 2019, recently passed away. He is remembered by his department, not for being a big guy, standing at 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing in around 295 lbs, but instead, for having a big sense of humor. He passed away on Wednesday. According to WMBF, "A viewing is set for Sunday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the McMillian-Small Funeral Home. Then the funeral will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Monday. There will be a celebration of life for Sheets after the services at OD Arcade and Lounge. The department did not say how Sheets died." (WMBF)
  2. After finding out the accommodations were less than ideal, a family on vacation in Myrtle Beach videoed the hotel room discrepancies and asked for a refund. After being denied the family posted the ‘unsanitary’ conditions on TikTok, which got over 10,000 likes and the owner of the hotel reportedly called the family and refunded their money. (WBTW)
  3. A tropical depression could developing in the Atlantic sometime early next week. According to WMBF, "A small area of low pressure, located several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, is producing an area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the central tropical Atlantic. Although there is dry air located to the north of the system, favorable upper-level winds are expected to allow for gradual development during the next several days. Stay posted! (WMBF)
  4. Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Head over to 406 N. Kings Highway on Sunday, July 23 from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. for the Diva Royale Drag Queens Show. This show reportedly features the Finest In Myrtle Beach Drag Queen brunch shows. Sounds like fun! (Myrtle Beach Events)
