  1. [In addition, Myrtle Beach] along with the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), is hosting a free overdose prevention and Narcan training event on Thursday afternoon. The session will be held at DHEC's Myrtle Beach location from 3 until 4 p.m." (wpde.com)
  2. Get ready for the Fifth Annual Waves of Praise Gospel Fest on Memorial Day weekend (Sept. 1 and 2) at the Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place. There will be food, arts and crafts, lots of music and more. Hope to see you there! (wpde.com)
  3. Skywatchers take note! The Blue Moon of August 2023 rises this week, offering a spectacular treat. The Blue Moon will rise on the night of Wednesday, Aug. 30. According to Space.com, "Look to the east just after sunset to find it; it won't be difficult to spot given it will be the brightest and largest moon of the year. This moon is notable [because it is] not only a full moon, but it's also a Blue Moon, which means it's the third full moon in a season that has four full moons, according to NASA." Hope you see it!
