  1. When was the last time you could find gas at a price of $2.89? Well, this weekend that was the price of gas at one local establishment. While the price of other goods seems to keep climbing, the price of gas is dropping at an unexpected rate. According to information from GasBuddy, the price of a gallon of gas in Myrtle Beach has fell 10 cents in the last week. This is great news for motorists planning summer vacations. (WMBF)
  2. Rip currents were a huge safety problem over the weekend in several areas. According to WMBF, there were over 20 rip current rescues reported in Myrtle Beach on Sunday. [And] a total of 124 rip current rescues from Wrightsville Beach to Litchfield Beach." Be careful when swimming and always make sure that if you are caught in a rip current, don’t fight it, try swimming out of it and then to shore. (WMBF)
  3. A deadly small plane crash occurred in North Myrtle Beach in the area of Pete Dye Drive over the weekend leaving one dead. The FAA and NTSB are both investigating the crash of the single-engine Piper PA-32 with four people on board. One person perished in the crash, and another was reportedly taken to the hospital.
