12-year-old Founder of Warm Feet, Happy Hearts Recognized

Jordan Crabb, the founder of an initiative to bring socks to people in need, has earned more recognition for her volunteer efforts.

Kohl's Cares Scholarship program recognized Jordan among 30 other South Carolina and 2,300 United States students. Those recognized have made a positive impact in their communities through volunteerism.

Jordan is 12 years old and founded the Summerville nonprofit Warm Feet, Happy Hearts.

These winners qualify for the chance to receive a $1,000 regional scholarship for higher education, which Kohl’s will award in July. Of the nearly 200 regional winners, 10 national winners will each receive a total of $10,000 in scholarships, and Kohl’s will donate $1,000 to a nonprofit organization on each national winner’s behalf.

As a preliminary winner, Jordan will receive a $50 gift card and a certificate for her effort.

In 2013, Kohl’s celebrates its 13th year of rewarding remarkable young volunteers.  In total this year, Kohl’s will recognize more than 2,300 young volunteers with more than $400,000 in scholarships and prizes. A list of all winners from South Carolina is available at www.kohlskids.com.
