A bank robbery suspect remained at large Monday evening following a North Charleston bank robbery, followed by a pursuit down Dorchester Road and Highway 61.Â
The chase ended in Givhans as the suspect vehicle wrecked into a civillian vehicle, according to officials. The road was closed for hours.Â
A Dorchester County Sheriff's Office spokesman said deputies were not actively pursuing the suspect vehicle at the time of the wreck. Following the wreck, one suspect evaded capture by running to the woods.
The response was in connection to a bank robbery from North Charleston, according to Dorchester County Sheriff's Office PIO Maj. John Garrison. Garrison said, while there are injuries, it is not certain whether those injured are suspects or bystanders.Â
There are reports that at least one ambulance headed to the hospital as a result of the chase.Â
