Dorchester County Investigating 'Suspicious' Death
Woman's death has sparked an investigation by coroner's office.

Dorchester County Coroner's Officer is investigation the death of a 37-year-old woman found dead in her bathtub April 27.
Coroner Chris Nisbet called her death "suspicious" and said the investigation is ongoing.Â
According to the incident report, Tabetha Grooms of 127 W. Turner St. was found unresponsive by first responders. Her husband, Larry Robert Grooms, said she was consuming alcohol and fainted while trying to close the bay windows of their mobile home. Grooms told authorities that she was feeling sick so he helped her to the shower. Moments later, he heard her fall in the shower, according to the report.Â

Blood was found on the bathtub, but first responders did not find any injuries that would have caused her to lose blood, according to the report. A pillow was also found in the bathtub.Â

Larry Grooms had been arrested previously for criminal domestic violence and, in the report, deputies mentioned having "prior experience" with him and his wife.Â
