On Monday, May 27th, at 1000 in the morning, a Memorial Day Ceremony will be conducted at Parks Cemetery on Boone Hall Road (Hwy 17A South) in Summerville by the combined efforts of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV); Knights of Columbus; American Legion; Summerville Elks 2719; VFW; VFW Auxiliary; United States Submarine Veterans Inc. (USSVI) Charleston Base; and the Mayor of Summerville, Bill Collins. The Summerville High School Cadets will take part in the ceremony also. Other dignitaries will be in attendance also. MC will be Ed Burns, Dorchester County Veterans Affairs Officer.
